VISIT TO LYMINGTON PRECISION ENGINEERING

Lentune Probus Club is fortunate to have been offered a repeat unique insight into Senior Flexonics / Lymington Precision Engineering.

The visit will enable club members to find out more about this leading local employer.

LPE is a leading manufacturer of precision-machined components, fabrications, assemblies, and kit sets for the oil and gas, telecommunications, aerospace, defence, land and sea systems, nuclear and marine industries. The Company has an annual turnover of £700m.

LPE products are manufactured from a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials and plastics, with many incorporating both standard and sophisticated welding and fabrication processes. In addition, LPE provides a refurbish and repair service for mechanical and electromechanical assemblies.

The visit will start at 10.30am with an introduction and brief overview of the company given by a senior executive. A tour of the Gosport Street facility (the larger of the two operations) will follow before a light buffet lunch [TBC], during which questions will be taken. 

There is no charge for the visit, but advance booking is essential.

Jon Rowland, CEO, has said that whole visit is expected to take 2 – 2 1/2 hours.

We shall meet at the small reception area to the right of the main building at 10.30am. Parking is available in the visitor's bays (only a couple or so), in the area/road opposite, the trading estate to the right of LPE, or the nearby public car park.

There is a maximum of 20 Members for this visit, so early booking (latest 2nd January 2024) is advised.

To allow time to finalise arrangements, please book as soon as possible. Guests (non-members) will be accommodated if the final numbers permit and should be booked on the website on a non-guaranteed basis. Booking is on a "First come / First served" basis. Preference will be given to Club Members and Lentune Ladies who did not attend the previous visit in April 2023.
