VISIT TO RNLI ALL-WEATHER LIFEBOAT CENTRE
Monday 20 January 2025 11.00am
The RNLI is committed to providing every all-weather lifeboat crew with a 25-knot boat. Achieving this requires the construction of at least 5 Shannon class lifeboats every year, as well as maintaining the existing fleet.
The All-weather Lifeboat Centre in Poole was opened in 2015 to bring lifeboat construction in-house, to facilitate quality and cost control. Every stage of lifeboat construction is now undertaken under this one roof.
Lentune Probus Cub members attending the factory tour will be taken behind the scenes to see lifeboats under construction, in what is a world-class lifeboat building factory.
Our Event Organiser on this occasion is David Codling.
There is a charge of £7.50 per person for the factory tour, payable to David no later than 3rd January please (to be confirmed),
