An enthusiastic group of Gentlemen and Ladies from both Lentune Probus groups met at Woodside Park in Lymington today for a wonderfully convivial attempt at playing Croquet. We were guided and supervised by kind and understanding members of Lymington Croquet Club who showed us the techniques and intricacies of this fascinating and at times, tricky game.

Fortunately for our somewhat inexperienced players it seems that we were playing Golf Croquet rather than Association Croquet, the former being what apperard to be a slightly less complicated version of the game with less opportunity to upset one's opponents. None the less it proved to be challenging and enormous fun.

After a testing afternoon on the Lawn, following which trophies were presented to the deserving and slightly surprised winners, we retired to the excellent cafe in Woodside for cakes and tea.
