Members and partners enjoyed a visit to St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery today to view the current exhibition ‘Lymington Afloat’.

Mac Hall, a Club member, explained how the  small St Barbe team had developed all elements of ‘Lymington Afloat’; he explained it is not just an exhibition.

There was a celebration on the weekend 28-29 September, when all the waterside organisations from the Town Quay to Salterns Sailing Club provided opportunities for children and adults to get on the water, view WWII vessels, Yarmouth RNLI lifeboat and others on the harbour pontoons; many participated in multiple events at the sea water baths and other activities.

The exhibition runs until January 2025 and traces the history and impact of the river on the local community and development of the marine businesses over many years. It also covers environmental changes and looks to the future. In addition to the above there are monthly lectures covering marine topics and an extensive outreach programme with local schools and universities.

The Club visit ended with a most enjoyable lunch at Prezzo in Lymington High Street.
