Members were shocked early in May to learn that Grace Thompson, wife of new member Mike Thompson, had been admitted to Southampton General Hospital for surgery, following a severe stroke. 

The good news is that Grace is slowly recovering. By mid-month she was eating regularly, her speech was improving and she was beginning to move with the help of physiotherapy. 

On  20th May, Mike advised that Grace was continuing to improve, able to eat solid food and was expecting to be moved to Lymington Hospital for continuing treatment.

Our thoughts and best wishes remain with Grace and Mike.

PS: Grace was subsequently transferred to Deerleap Ward, Lymington Hospital, where there is a Stroke Rehabilitation Unit. Her progress continues.
