With paramedics on standby, members of Lentune Probus Club with and without hair, let it all down enthusiastically on 1st November, when they trod the light fantastic at this year’s Annual Dinner with Entertainment. 

The setting, in South Lawn’s Cornwallis Suite, with lighting on each table providing a blue colour wash with magenta pin spots, was magical. And the dinner and service were well up to the hotel’s usual high standards. 

Entertainment on arrival and during the dinner was provided by close-up magician Jamie Adams, returning for a second year by popular demand. Music, provided by the gifted Brendan Cole Duo followed. This was an eclectic mix of Buddy Holly and other 50s and 60s hits, followed by a tribute to the Beatles that got virtually everyone on their feet. 

Thanks are due to Jocelyn and Brian Towlson for the immensely hard work they put into organising this popular event, generally acknowledged to have been “one of the best”.

Club Members should make a note in their diary for next year’s dinner on 13th November, which will again be held at South Lawn.
